Where we deliver

A Dog's Hearth cooks in Douglaston, Queens and delivers across the metro area:

We deliberately don't ship nationwide. As a small, craft-focused kitchen we prioritize freshness and hands-on preparation, and staying close to home is what makes that possible. Working with local partners also means we can answer the phone when you have a question about your dog.

What fresh dog food delivery costs

Every recipe is sold in 1 lb packs, and you choose how much of the bowl to make fresh:

Fresh Original Chicken & Veggie$8.00 / lb
Fresh Chicken & Veggie (higher protein, lower carb)$9.00 / lb
Fresh Original Lamb & Veggie$11.00 / lb
Fresh Lamb & Veggie (higher protein, lower carb)$12.00 / lb

Most families start with the 50/50 topper approach: fresh food makes up half your dog's daily calories, spooned over the food they already eat. That halves the cost of going fully fresh while still adding real meat, real vegetables, and meaningful hydration to every meal. Orders begin at a five-packet (5 lb) minimum, and pricing improves as you order more.

Not sure how much your dog needs? Our Plan Builder works it out in about two minutes and gives you exact daily grams and ounces.

Try it free first

We deliver up to three complimentary trial packets so your dog can vote with their bowl before you commit. Some dogs have very strong opinions about dinner, and we respect that.

What makes it different from kibble

Our recipes are gently pressure-cooked to preserve nutrients, flavor, and texture, then frozen; there are no artificial preservatives, fillers, or by-products. Because fresh food is roughly 66–74% moisture against about 10% for dry kibble, a daily portion delivers meaningful water straight from the bowl, which matters for dogs that aren't enthusiastic drinkers.

Two of our four recipes are built higher in protein and lower in carbohydrates; the two Original recipes are the gentle classics we've cooked since 2006, made for picky eaters and older dogs. Full nutrition figures are on each recipe page.

Every plan includes a nutritional analysis

When you order, AJ personally prepares a written nutritional analysis for your dog: daily calorie needs, a side-by-side comparison against your current food, exact portions per meal, and a gentle 10-day transition schedule. It's included at no cost, and AJ follows up by email to tailor it with you.

Backed by 18+ years and a veterinary endorsement

These are the recipes that fed Chase, our founder's dog, for over 18 and a half years. Dr. Florentine Romero, DVM of Merrick Blvd Animal Hospital in Queens has endorsed the approach after fifty years of practice. Read AJ and Chase's story.
